Manila Hostage Crisis; Failure on the Philippine Police

Earlier today a bus full of Hongkong tourists was taken hostage by Roland Mendoza, a former Policeman. Mendoza was recently fired for having been accused of extortion among other things. Mendoza claims that the decision to fire him was unjust and without cause. He wanted the decision to be overruled and he be given his job back along with his benefits.

The hostage crisis was broadcasted all over the news and live feeds were given during the said crisis. Everyone tuned in as the Hostage crisis turned into a bloody event with a lot of casualties including a bystander who was hit by a stray bullet. There were several fatalities but the hostage crisis was finally over after hours of tension when a sniper shot and killed Roland Mendoza.

Personally I was very displeased with the way the police and the SWAT handled the situation. They were clearly unprepared and did not have a plan on how to stop Mendoza. They were able to subdue Mendoza, a single person, only after many of the hostages were harmed. They even failed to secure the location which caused and innocent bystander to get hurt when a stray bullet hit him. Even after the hostage crisis was over the police did not secure the area as civilians rushed to the scene taking pictures further delaying the much needed medical attention to the injured.

Square Root of Three

I just finished watching "Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanama Bay" and i really loved the movie. Although i thought the first movie was better, "Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanama Bay" did not disappoint and i found myself laughing on all the unfortunate events that happened to the duo in the film.

The best part of the movie for me however is seeing the romantic side of Kumar which we did not see in the first film. My favourite scene in the movie was when Kumar finally confessed his feelings to his ex-girlfriend in poem. Here is the poem from the movie:

I’m sure that I will always be

A lonely number like root three

The three is all that’s good and right,

Why must my three keep out of sight

Beneath the vicious square root sign,

I wish instead I were a nine

For nine could thwart this evil trick,

with just some quick arithmetic

I know I’ll never see the sun, as 1.7321

Such is my reality, a sad irrationality

When hark! What is this I see,

Another square root of a three

As quietly co-waltzing by,

Together now we multiply

To form a number we prefer,

Rejoicing as an integer

We break free from our mortal bonds

With the wave of magic wands

Our square root signs become unglued

Your love for me has been renewed

Tinier Me Game Review

I recently came across a new game in the internet named Tinier Me. The game is designed to allow you to create a tinier you as name of the game suggest. Players are able to customize their avatars greatly with the huge number of clothes, shoes, pants, and other apparels. This allows players to really portray their own personality and uniqueness in their avatars. I found this feature of the game really fun and i enjoyed making my own avatar. Once you have created your avatar you can start playing the game. The game basically allows players to march their avatars in Selfly Town wherein you can meet other players and participate in events. In Selfly Town players can interact with other players and make new friends. Players can also customize thier own rooms which other players can visit. Players earn chibi coins, the currency in Tinier Me, by participating in events, adding new friends and even by just logging in. The points can later be used to buy new apparel or can be used to decorate the player's room.

The game itself is very unique and for those who enjoy chatting, making new friends and interacting with other gamers, this is the game for you. The character customization allows players to express their creativeness and uniqueness and the community of players makes the game exciting and fun.

Kimi No Iru Machi Manga Review

Kimi No Iru Machi Manga is a new manga series that is written by the renowned manga artist Seo Kuoji. Basically the plot revolves around a teenage boy named Kirishima Haruto and how his world is turned upside down when a mysterious and beautiful tokyo girl, named Eba Yuzuki, came to live with him and his family in the countryside. Haruto and Eba is joined by other characters such as Kanzaki Nanami who happens to be Kirishimas's first love.

The series is still going on and a new chapter is released every week but so far I really am enjoying the series. Each character is very well made and designed to depict ordinary people in such extraordinary ways. The love story in the manga is very captivating and full of twists that you would not expect. The drawings from the manga are also excellent. Each character is drawn with such emphasis on details, even the background of the manga is done beautifully.

Overall I can say that this manga is very well done. I will recommend this to everyone who enjoys reading about love, romance and passion. Kimi No Iru Machi is manga that everyone will enjoy.
